OMNI-PN™: The Nation's Most Cost-Effective Phthalonitrile Resin
Uncompromising Thermal Stability. Unprecedented Affordability.
Traditional phthalonitrile (PN) resins have long been plagued by expensive, time-consuming manufacturing processes. HAND Technologies has fundamentally disrupted this supply chain. By engineering a novel synthetic route, we bypass legacy production bottlenecks to offer OMNI-PN™—our unique, low-cost phthalonitrile resin.
OMNI-PN is currently the most affordable PN resin in the nation, democratizing access to extreme-temperature materials for structural composite integrators and aerospace contractors.
Engineered for Standalone Performance & BODA™ Synergy
OMNI-PN was designed with dual-purpose architecture. It serves as a highly resilient, standalone matrix for Polymer Matrix Composites (PMCs), but it was also chemically engineered for perfect compatibility with our flagship BODA™ product line.
For manufacturers building Carbon/Carbon (C/C) composites, OMNI-PN operates as an ideal, budget-friendly first-pyrolysis resin. By utilizing OMNI-PN for the initial infusion and backfilling subsequent cycles with our ultra-high-yield BODA PRIME™, manufacturers can optimize both their production costs and their final component performance.
Key Technical Performance
OMNI-PN delivers the outstanding thermal stability expected of a premium phthalonitrile, tailored specifically for manufacturability.
Exceptional Char Yield: Achieves an outstanding 76% char yield at 1000°C (N2).
Extreme Thermal Resilience: Demonstrates a high glass transition temperature (Tg) of >450°C.
Tailorable Viscosity: Engineered with a highly processable viscosity profile ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 cP (1.0–2.5 Pa·s) to suit a variety of manufacturing processes.
Low Exotherm Risk: Formulated for stable, predictable processing with a very low risk of exotherm during scale-up.
Drop-In Manufacturability
We bridge the gap between advanced chemistry and the factory floor. OMNI-PN is designed for seamless integration into your existing composite fabrication equipment, whether you are using vacuum bag processing or melt-infusion.
Recommended Processing Baselines:
Melt-Infusion: Recommended infusion temperatures average 175–185°C.
Vacuum Bag Process: Recommended processing at 140–155°C and heating to 175–195°C to cure. With compression, lower temperatures can be utilized; at 155°C, resin viscosity drops below 10,000 cP.
Post-Cure: Recommended free-standing post-cure at 375°C for >4 hours.
